1) How to get there – this one is easy, we encourage you to use the BTS (Bearing station) for convenience and the show will definitely end before midnight, unless you want to stay and help us clean up. 2) We are doing a flea market outside, and there are loads of shops, workshops and fun activities for you throughout the day, plus afternoon and dinner menus from from Minibar Royale.

3) The theme for this show is urban festival, we’re converting the room into a street party where you can sit and relax. So please, if you can, bring blankets, duvets, pillows, throws and cushions to the show and we will picnic in the middle of the street. There are really chilled Featuring Bands you can just lay down and watch. Please don’t forget to keep your ticket to exchange for a nice Choya Umeshu for free! And if you like, dress in primary colours to fit our tones

4) Social networking bees, remember to check in at “The Dodos Day Fest” on Facebook, Instagram and Foursquare and please use #dodosdayfest or tag us @supersweetlive if you upload your beautiful photos to Instagram or get on Twitter.

5) Thanks to every-every, our favourite graphics/illustration couple, we have made so many nice merch to sell at the show: tees (500 THB), totes (350 THB), colouring totes (200 THB) and badges (80 THB per pair) and The Dodos themselves have imported 12″ vinyls (700 THB) and CDs (400 THB) to sell just at this show! Not only that, they will do a signing booth right after the electric show, so save your $$$ and join us. There’s also an ATM in the front of the venue in case you miscalculate!

เนื่องจากทางทีมงาน SUPERSWEET Live! ได้รับการปฏิเสธการจัดงาน SUPERSWEET Live! presents The Dodos Day Fest จาก สยามสมาคม เนื่องจากทางสยามสมาคมออกกฏห้ามขายเครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ภายในงาน เราจึงขอเปลี่ยนสถานที่จัด เป็น Centerpoint Studio สุขุมวิท 105 แทน

Centerpoint Studio อาจจะดูใหญ่เกินสำหรับงานแค่ 400 คน แต่คราวนี้ เราจะยกส่วนกิจกรรมทั้งหมดเข้าด้านในที่แอร์เย็นเจี๊ยบ และเราสัญญาว่าจะทำให้บรรยากาศน่ารักๆ เล็กๆ และเป็นกันเอง เหมือนที่ตั้งใจเอาไว้แต่แรก ขอโทษด้วยจริงๆ นะจ๊ะ

สำหรับกิจกรรมด้านในนั้น เราขอทำเป็นลิสต์สั้นๆ: ปิคนิค, ดูดวงกับหมอดูลูกแก้ว, ฮูล่า ฮู้ปคอนเทสต์, เวิร์คช้อปเพ้นท์ถุงผ้า, ขายของ, บู้ธดีเจของ Coconut Project (ซึ่งจะมี perform อะไรซักอย่าง), และอาหารอร่อยๆ จาก Minibar Royale

We have recently been informed that alcohol selling isn’t allowed at the Siam Society, therefore SUPERSWEET Live! presents the Dodos Day Fest will move to Centerpoint Studio, Sukhumvit 105. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.

Centerpoint Studio is an awesome space, it might seem a little big for a show of 400 capacity. But this time, we are planning to place the performance and activity areas indoor so we can all enjoy the air-con breeze. And we promise to keep the show as intimate and sweet as we first promised!

As for the mentioned activities, we will keep it short with this list: picnicking, crystal psychic reading, the hula-hoop contest, tote-painting workshop, shops from SS and bands, DJ booth by Coconut Project (who are performing, we were told!), and very very nice food stall by Minibar Royale.

Most importantly, don’t leave after the show, the Dodos will set up a signing tent where you can pre-purchase their imported CDs, vinyls and our very cool totes and tees. Get signed!

We love the variety of featuring bands we’ve carefully put together this time. There’s a band you can ballroom dance to (Dok-Mai-Baan), and there’s one that will put a smile on your face as you find yourself gently swaying left and right (BeforeChamp). เวลาฟังเพลงของ Basement Tape แล้วคุณอยากจะทวิสต์ไปกับจังหวะไหม? ดนตรีของเขาทำให้เรานึกถึง ช่วงเวลาดีๆ ช่วงหนึ่งของชีวิต ที่มีเพื่อนรักล้อมรอบ Basement Tape โผล่มาในซีนดนตรีครั้งแรกเมื่อปี 2008 สมาชิกวงผลัดเปลี่ยนไปเรื่อยๆ โดยมี ทัด บุนนาค และ เบน เอ็ดเวิร์ดส์ เป็นหลัก มาจนถึงวันนี้พวกเขามี EP สองชุดกับหนึ่งอัลบั้ม แต่สิ่งพิเศษที่เขาจะนำมาเสนอที่ SUPERSWEET Live! คือการเล่นเฉพาะ The Blue Album (‘Basement Tape’) ตั้งแต่เพลงแรก ‘Down’ ไล่ไปตามลำดับจนถึงเพลงสุดท้าย ‘Grace’s Garden’ ตามความต้องการที่พวกเขาอยากจะให้คนฟังอัลบั้ม มาลองดู ว่าเวลาเล่นในคอนเซ็ปต์ไลฟ์แล้วมันจะสนุก แค่ไหน!

Do you feel like twisting when you hear Basement Tape? It reminds us of the best times, and friendship. Basement Tape first emerged on the scene in 2008, with rotating members while Tat Bunnag and Ben Edwards remain the core songwriters. To date, they have released two EPs and a self-titled album AKA ‘The Blue Album’. And it’s this very album that the band will play at the Siam Society back-to-back like the way it is meant to be heard, including a few songs they’ve not played live anywhere yet. How much do you want to hear your favourite album in the live context?

ถ้าเปรียบ Bear-Garden เป็นคน เราถือว่าเขาเป็นคนที่มีหลายบุคคลิกเลยทีเดียว โดยปกติพวกเขาคือวงป๊อบใสๆ กุ๊กกิ๊กน่ารักแบบญี่ปุ่น พอเล่นเป็นเซ็ทอะคูสติกก็มีความหวานแบบชิลล์ๆ ฟังแล้วอยากไปทะเล แต่บุคคลิกที่เรา ชอบมากที่สุด คือเวลาที่ จูน และ กัณณ์ เล่นเบสและกลองกันเพียงสองคน เพราะจะมีความเป็นอาร์ต-ร็อคผุดขึ้น มา กลายเป็นวงพังก์ไปทันที การได้รู้จักดนตรีของ Bear-Garden ทำให้เราเข้าใจ ถึงความเป็นไปได้ของศิลปะ ที่ไม่จำกัดการตีความแค่เพียงด้านเดียว แน่นอนว่าเรารีเควสท์ให้เขาเล่นเป็น bass-and-drum โดยเน้นแต่เพลง มันๆ สนุกๆ ที่ฟังแล้วต้องขยี้หัวตาม

If we compared Bear-Garden to a person, we’d say this person has multiple personality disorder. Most of the time they’re a pop cutesy band, when they do acoustic they become so sweet you’ll want to hang out with them at the beach. The side we love most, though, is when it’s just June and Gunn on bass and drums. The art-rock spirit comes alive and they turn into a punk band. This makes you realise that the possibilities of art forms are endless and there’s not one thing wrong with it. Of course we request for them to do the bass-and-drum set, and all the proper fun songs you’ll want to shake your heads to!

ก่อน (อูคูเลเล่, ร้องนำ) เคยเล่าให้ฟัง ว่าพื้นฐานดนตรีของเขาและแชมป์ (ไวโอลิน, ร้องนำ) คือดนตรีคลาสสิค ซึ่งเขานับว่ามีค่ามาก เพราะมันสอนให้เขาเรียนวิธีเล่นดนตรีด้วยความเข้าใจ และถูกต้องสมบูรณ์แบบ เพื่อที่จะ นำมันไปผสมกับสไตล์ส่วนตัว และเกิดซาวนด์ที่พวกเขาอยากให้เป็น ดนตรีของ BeforeChamp จึงไม่เหมือนใคร โทนโดยรวมนั้นมีกลิ่นสกาเบาๆ แต่มีบีท บ๊อคซ์ และเอ็ฟเฟ็กต์อิเล็คทรอนิคส์มากมายแฝงอยู่ บวกกับการเล่าเรื่อง เหมือนนิทาน จึงทำให้แนวเพลงที่มีเครื่องดนตรีสองชนิดนี้คาดเดายาก แต่ยังคงความสนุกสนาน และน่าฟังแบบ เพลงป๊อบที่ดี จากวันแรกที่ได้ดู เราก็รู้ในทันที ว่าพวกเขาต้องได้เล่นกับ The Dodos ในวันนี้อย่างแน่นอน

Before (Ukulele, vocals) once told us that he and Champ (violin, vocals) first did Classical Music, something which they both appreciate till now. As it taught them to do it correctly before applying their own signatures to the music they make. BeforeChamp’s sound is therefore unique – constantly dipped in ska but at the same time mixed with beat boxing and the numerous electronic effects they bring in. They do all this through story telling, it’s unpredictable for those who haven’t yet seen them. From day one, we instantly knew that they were the ones we wanted today for the Day Fest.

SS อยากจะขอขอบคุณ ย้ง (Chladni Chandi/ญาณ) ที่เป็นผู้ค้นพบวงดนตรีดีๆ อย่างดอกไม้บาน แม้จะทำดนตรี มานานแล้วถึง 25 ปี แต่ อ็อด พงศ์พันธุ์ เดชครุฑ (ร้องนำ, ไวโอลิน) และสมาชิกอีกสองคนนั้นมาจากปากช่อง (โคราช) ปัจจุบันได้ย้ายมาปักหลักอยู่ในกรุงเทพฯ อ๊อดได้เจอกับย้งขณะศึกษาปริญญาโท ดอกไม้บานเวอร์ชั่น ใหม่นี้ยังได้ เบิร์ด จาก Desktop Error มาช่วยเล่นกีตาร์ให้ “ดนตรีคันทรี่โฟล์คแบบไทยๆ” ของพวกเขามีความร่วม สมัยมากยิ่งขึ้น ดอกไม้บานเปิดตัวครั้งแรกที่เทศกาลดนตรี Keep On The Grass สิ่งที่ทำให้เราประทับใจเป็น พิเศษ คือจิตวิญญาณของดนตรีกึ่งพื้นบ้าน และอารมณ์ประนีประนอมฉันท์พี่น้อง จนเราต้องขอเชิญมาประเดิม เล่นให้ชาวกรุงดูที่ The Dodos Day Fest นี้เป็นแห่งแรก

SS would like to thank Yong (Chladni Chandi) for discovering this 25-year-old band from Pakchong (Korat), Dok-Mai-Baan, who have now moved to Bangkok. Besides Yong, Dok-Mai-Baan 2.0 also have help from Desktop Error’s guitarist Bird, making their so-called “Thai country-folk” more contemporary and relevant. Their first performance as this line-up was at Keep on the Grass Music Festival, and straight away we fell in love with their native old souls and had to have them debut their Bangkok show at ours.

If we were to be honest about what kicked off the idea of SUPERSWEET Live! in Thailand, the answer would be the Dodos; and it took us two years to get here. Dream show from the start, these guys wowed us when we first saw them live half a decade ago. From then, every single Dodos show witnessed has been a brand-new experience, nothing feels forced or too rehearsed. There is nothing but two men, Meric Long and Logan Kroeber, on guitar and drums – the simplest and most organic set up one could imagine – are able to create live shows that are spontaneous, and manically intense to the mass but very personal to each individual. That’s why our next Live Exhibition will come as a twin concept show: Electric and Acoustic.

From the rebellious folkish pop album ‘Beware of the Maniacs’ (2006) to the critically acclaimed ‘Visiter’ (2008), to ‘Time to Die’ (2009), and their most thoughtful ‘No Color’ (2011), the styles and influences the Dodos share with us have evolved consistently. While the multi-layer sounds on loop with the rhythmic finger-picking guitar and quirky drumming will remain their signatures, the twin concept will best demonstrate their ability to create something refreshing, completely unique and a once in a lifetime memory.

How to get there:
Google Maps smart phone users, click here for your navigator. If not, follow this map below. The easiest way to reach SOL Space is via Pradit Thummanoon Road (Ram Intra Expressway) then turn left when you see Golden Place. Parking isn’t a problem but try carpooling for more fun, less fuss and better environment.

When to get there:
First band, My Post Life will start at 8:30 with some really cool visuals by our favourite Tokin The World May Never Know. My Post Life rarely plays, so we’d say get here by 8:15 and you will be fine. Read more about our supergroup featuring bands here. If you’re hungry, VT restaurant and Golden Place or Grills House are good places to eat – in this case, get here at 7pm!

We’re going to give up and take the lazy journalism route to avoid defining the music genre that Pry & Modern Dog’s May-T make. But who needs that when these guys’ CVs read like a passage to the moon? Yet we will coyly drop simple words like passionate, genuine and powerful when it comes to their live performances. On this very rare occasion, the band will perform a 45 minute acoustic set that will change any preconceptions you have about them, their music and myths. Fear not, simplicity isn’t less where Pry & May-T are concerned. Instead, it means even more space for them to express and expand!

ถ้าคุณคิดว่าคุณไม่รู้จักวงนี้ เราขอให้คิดใหม่ เพราะ My Post Life คือวงโฟล์คโปรเจ็กต์ใหม่ของพี่ป๊อก วรรณฤทธิ์ พงศ์ประยูร จาก Stylish Nonsense นั่นเอง เพลงของพี่ป๊อกคราวนี้มาแบบเบาสบาย มีกลิ่น The Beatles นิดๆ และเป็นเพลงที่ใครๆ ก็หลงรักได้ง่าย ด้วยมุมมองโลกติดดินที่เขาสื่อมาทั้งในดนตรีและเนื้อหา พี่ป็อกเล่าว่าโปรเจ็คต์นี้แทบจะไม่ได้เขียนเนื้อร้องและดนตรีพร้อมกัน และตั้งใจจะให้คนเสพสองสิ่งนี้แยกหรือรวมกันก็ได้ตามใจชอบ ในคืนของ SUPERSWEET นี้ เราขอเพิ่มอีกมิติหนึ่งเข้าไป โดยได้ชวนผู้กำกับวีดีโอคู่ใจพี่ป๊อกอย่าง โตคิณ ฑีคานันท์ มาช่วยทำวีดีโอประกอบเพื่อต่อเติมจินตนาการของโชว์นี้ให้ไปไกลอีกยิ่งขึ้น

Beatle-esque, light-as-air and really really personable, My Post Life invites you to look at the world the way Pok humbly sees and feels. Its body of work was made almost entirely separately: the poetry and the music and it was Pok’s intention for you to take it in how you want. Tonight we are adding the third dimension as we invite Pok’s artistic sidekick Tokin Teekanun to bring in some visuals adding his own translation to top it all off.
